FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
DELRAY BEACH, Fla.
–Taverna Opa Delray, now under ownership of the original Tsialiamanis family is getting ready to Opa! and cater to new guests and longtime customers by revealing a modernized new dining interior, new fresh fish and seafood display, expanded seating and private dining room areas along with a new menu and weekly activations.

Peter Tsaliamanis, Taverna Opa restaurant group creator housing concepts including Taverna Opa, Taverna Kyma, Giorgio’s Grill and Giorgio’s Bakery, officially handed his Delray Beach establishment to his children beginning with oldest daughter Sophia and her husband John.

“When my father first opened Taverna Opa, his sole mission was to serve an authentic Greek dining experience that highlighted the quality of food and a family-style hospitality. We are so proud to continue his legacy and preserve the recipes and old-world charm we grew up with in Greece within an updated new atmosphere that enhances every dining experience and celebration,” says Sophia.

At Delray, in the kitchen, John serves as Executive Chef and leads the culinary team in using the highest-quality meats and seafood in the creation of each authentic dish. Ingredients are imported directly from Greece to ensure supreme flavor and excellence in every bite, preserving the original recipes first introduced by Peter that have stood the test of nearly three decades. With authentic Greek cuisine being the main event, guests can expect memorable meals over signature menu offerings reflective of the traditional Greek preparations.

Feast on generous portions of Greek staples: Traditional Greek Salad tossed in Opa dressing, flaming Saganaki, Spanikopita and more. The new fresh fish and seafood display showcases the finest selections from across the globe including South African prawns, Spanish octopus and Greek branzino.

The new Taverna Opa Delray features wooden-slat ceilings, whitewashed tables and wooden bench seating lining the east wall. The open and airy dining room comfortably accommodates large gatherings, intimate dinners and plenty of space for mingling and dancing. Grecian urns make up the bulk of decorative items, reflective of the rustic minimalism of the Greek islands, and the floors are an exact reproduction of Mykonos streets. The roomy indoor-outdoor bar features tall back stools for guests to enjoy a full meal or cocktails, opening out to an intimate alcove hidden away from the bustling main road.

When the lights go down, the entertainment heats up! In addition to the lively music pulsing through the restaurant, guests will delight in nightly performances by an upbeat belly dancer donning a foot-tall crown, with five flames burning at its top.

Open for brunch every Sunday, Taverna Opa’s Rosè Sunday menu features an assortment of dishes both light and hearty that present a variety of classic breakfast favorites. Enjoy Magnum bottles of Rosé and Rosè Champagne and indulge in mainland fare and traditional breakfast items including Breakfast Pita stuffed with imported feta cheese and gyro meat, 3-Egg Omelette served with potato hash, Lamb Chops & Eggs and the Banana Foster French Toast.
