Top 10 Gluten-Free Places – Easter Round-Up

Over the past few months, Munch Miami has had the pleasure of reviewing many gluten-free restaurants and cafes around South Florida. Some have actual gluten-free menus or items, and some show their flexibility and hospitality by being accommodating. As gluten-free awareness grows, we wanted to make a top 10 list of our favorites for Celiac and gluten-free eaters to have for quick referencing… and the winners are:

Top 5 Restaurants:

  1. Sugar Factory
    Located on Ocean Drive, this restaurant is not for the faint of heart. Next to their delicious gluten-free options, you’ll have an experience like no other. Music, drinks, a fun wait staff, and sweets… Lord, the sweets.
  2. Pisco y Nazca
    Usually you’d have to go to Downtown or Miami Beach to enjoy such a unique ambiance and menu. This spot is the whole package, take your significant other for a intimate evening or come and enjoy some of their wonderfully priced “Hora Loca” items with your friends, you’ll not be disappointed either way.
  3. Harry’s Pizzeria
    Pizza is everyone’s favorite, and Harry’s has what you need and then some! All of their uniquely topped pizzas can be  made on a gluten-free crust, and you don’t lose any of the delicious flavor.
  4. Temple Street Eatery
    Asian fusion with a Latin twist, Temple Street serves everything from Pho to empanadas! this casual dining spot is definitely a place you need to visit if you’re ever in the Ft. Lauderdale area.
  5. La Latina
    Speaking of empanadas, you don’t want to eat one unless it’s made at La Latina. This authentic little spot is great any time, but especially as a late night treat when exploring the Wynwood District during one of the many art walks or gallery exhibitions.

Top 5 Dessert Places:

  1. The Salty Donut
    The only place in town where you can get a perfectly crafted gluten-free donut without losing any of the flavor. Pairing your early morning coffee with one of these artisinal creations is the perfect way to start your weekend adventures.
  2. Sugar Factory
    Milk Shakes, Panna Cotta, Mango Cheesecakes… the list can go on! Sugar Factory started as a simple candy shop, but since then it’s really gone above and beyond when it comes to providing a sweet treat to it’s customers.
  3. Vixi Gelateria
    Gelato is usually a no brainer, especially when it comes down to Vixi! rich, creamy, and authentically Italian, this gelateria in Coral Gables is where it’s at. Order yourself an affogato or a scoop of gelato on a gluten-free cone, and enjoy your cool sweet treat during the hot summer days.
  4. Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant
    This quirky and fun Ice cream parlor is an experience for children of all ages. Their huge selection of ice cream flavors and the combination of toppings available are sure to leave everyone satisfied.
  5. Ma-Ka-Rohn
    Ma-Ka-Rohn isn’t technically a place, but they make delicious macarons that ship directly to your home! This local small business is full of heart and imagination, and the perfect fun flavors definitely make it hard to stop at just one.
