Sugar Factory

Ocean Drive is a landmark strip filled with historical Art Deco style buildings lined with hotels, restaurants, bars, and clubs. If you find yourself at the beach enjoying a fun-filled day by the ocean, or having a sightseeing stroll before heading to a rooftop pool party, we highly recommend you make a pitstop at Sugar Factory!

Now, don’t be fooled by the candy shop store front, this unique spot will totally blow you away with its lively music, super attentive wait staff, delicious cocktails, and delectable foods. If you’re looking for a great time without getting pushed around by the crowds, Sugar Factory is the place for you; and what’s even better is they are extremely accommodating to the Celiac and gluten-intolerant community. If you or someone in your party falls into one of these categories, all you have to do is call in advance and let them know, so they can check to see if they have gluten-free bread and pasta available for you. Be sure to check out their whole menu by clicking here.

Recommended Sugar Factory Dishes:

“Garbage” Salad: Now, don’t be fooled by the name, this salad doesn’t taste at all like garbage and will most definitely satisfy anyone’s appetite as it is loaded with all the fixins. Romaine, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Avocado, Salami, Pepperoni, Mozzarella, Provolone and Croutons with Lemon Herb Vinaigrette. (Make sure to remind them about removing the croutons if you want your salad to be gluten-free)

White Chocolate Cheeseburger (**MM Favorite): Yes, you read that correctly. This burger topped with bacon and pepper jack cheese and is perfected by adding a drizzle of melted white chocolate… but don’t let that steer you away! The balance between the salty and the sweet is just right and any burger lover should definitely give it a try. It’s absolutely delicious, and a definite conversation starter. This is a new menu item so if you don’t see it, be sure to ask for it! (If you need to, be sure to call ahead and ask for gluten-free buns)

Chicken Paillard: If you’re not in a curious mood or don’t really feel like eating red meat, you should definitely try the Chicken Paillard. A perfectly grilled chicken breast, accompanied by (gluten-free) french fries. This is a great dish for the picky eater in your group or for anyone who’s trying to have a light meal. If you have kids in your group you should ask for the gluten-free mac and cheese… it’s absolutely delicious!

Recommended Sugar Factory Drinks:

Sugar Factory also has a full-fledged bar, so you can order any drink you’d like with a confectionary twist. We had the pleasure of trying out their goblet sized mixed drink and some of their martinis. (In order to make these drinks gluten-free, the Sugar Factory bartender has substituted all of the Rum in the drinks below for Tito’s gluten-free Vodka)

Lollipop Passion Goblet:  Tito’s gluten-free Vodka with a splash of coconut syrup, melon pucker, pineapple juice, sour mix, and Sierra Mist. Topped with a few rainbow twist pops wrapped in a candy necklace.

Ocean Blue Goblet: Tito’s gluten-free Vodka, Hpnotiq, blueberry pucker, raspberry vodka, sour mix, and Sierra Mist. Topped with blue gummy sharks.

Cotton Candy Cosmopolitan: Cotton candy vodka, Orange vodka, Triple sec, cranberry juice, raw candy syrup, cotton candy pop rocks rim, cotton candy balls, and raspberry gummies.

Sour Apple Lolly Martini (**MM Favorite): Bubble gum vodka, Apple pucker, MONIN granny apple syrup, and rock candy syrup. A sour apple blow pop is submerged in the drink for added flavor and the rim is covered in bubble gum pop rocks.

Red Velvet Old Fashioned Milkshake (GF): Vanilla Soft Serve Ice Cream and Milk Chocolate topped with Whipped Cream, Red Velvet Shavings and Chocolate Shavings

Chocolate Cookie Jar Old Fashioned Milkshake (GF): Vanilla Soft Serve Ice Cream blended with Chocolate Chips, Caramel Sauce and Pure Melted Chocolate Sauce and topped with Dark Chocolate Shavings and Whipped Cream.

Recommended Sugar Factory Desserts:

Mango Cheesecake: Perfectly sized for one, sitting atop a thick slice of mango, this cheesecake is airy, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. Topped with a mango, passion fruit, raspberry sauce.

Panna Cotta (**MM Favorite): Served in a Martini glass, a creamy white chocolate panna cotta, drizzled with a raspberry sauce and topped with fresh raspberries. DELICIOUS!
